UPDATE: The original story on Buzzfeed has been updated as follows: "This story originally stated the researchers surveyed 20,000 respondents. The researchers actually collected six data points each from 3,293 individuals, resulting in their dataset of 19,758 choices." The latest poll shows that seventy percent of Brits want a proper Brexit! Now there’s a turn up for the book! According to a shock new survey, there is now overwhelming support in the country for a full and proper Brexit. This will of course have many ardent Remain keyboard warriors spluttering in their afternoon tea. -------------------------------- Supercharge your YouTube videos: http://bit.ly/2vbl9z2 -------------------------------- The poll, which Buzzfeed has seen in advance of publication, throws a startling light on how Brits view Brexit. As well as now being less evangelical about single market membership, many Remainers seem to want what Leavers want - full control over immigration. And this poll isn’t some little online survey of a couple of hundred anonymous people. The research of the views of over 20,000 respondents was carried out by academics at the London School of Economics and Oxford University and is said to be the most comprehensive of its type since the EU referendum. One surprise aspect of the research was that, although the majority of Remain voters want a soft Brexit, many of them now want to see a Hard Brexit. When this is coupled with the majority of leave voters who of course favour a full Brexit there is, overall more support for outcomes that resemble the hard Brexit position, said the researchers. Another nugget to fall out was that Remain voters are just as angry as leave voters at the EU’s extortionate Brexit bill demands, to the extent that both sides favour making no payment at all. Most Pro-EU voters also agreed that we should not be paying large fees for continued access to whatever the EU had to offer with most saying there should be a cap of one billion euros a year. Both Theresa May and David Davis will take heart from this study and it should put a shot across the bows of all those pro-EU politicians and others inside the Remain leaning Westminster bubble, who are beavering away in the background trying to scotch Brexit. This news will hopefully give the EU zealots, that we could all name, cause to seriously review their positions and back off. But somehow, I doubt that their views that they are cleverer than us and know what is good for the minions will be dented in any way by this. We do however live in hope. Now, do you think this survey will help push Brexit in the right direction? Or will the Remainers shut their eyes tighter, put more cotton wool in their ears and shout even louder?
